Clinical Hypnotherapy
A Clinical Hypnotherapist uses hypnosis to enable the client to achieve a state of mental, physical and emotional relaxation. When in hypnosis, the conscious mind (that busy, critical, analytical part of the mind) takes a rest.
Hypnosis allows people to tap into the storehouse of information that lies in the subconscious (sometimes referred to as the unconscious) mind and make positive changes to thought patterns, habits or the effects of traumatic incidents that are having a negative impact either mentally or physically (Australian Society of Clinical Hypnotherapists).
While the skill to hypnotise can be leaned relatively quickly, the capacity to work professionally as a Clinical Hypnotherapist requires additional qualifications, training, and experience in the ‘therapy’ aspect of Hypnotherapy.
For this reason, at Bunbury Counselling we specialise in the use of hypnosis for self-care, emotion management, mental health, and wellbeing.
We also work in childbirth preparation and education, as we have a qualified childbirth educator. If you require services that are outside of our therapeutic expertise, we will refer you elsewhere.
Please be mindful when choosing a hypnotherapist, to ensure they process sufficient training and experience in the ailment you are seeking treatment for, not just the ability to hypnotise.
Our Clinical Hypnotherapist (Carrina Hampton) has completed the Diploma Course with the Milton H Erickson Institute of WA in 2013; including Applied Hypnosis and Advanced Hypnosis and Supervision.
